Marlon Kroll
Marlon Kroll’s drawings and sculptures explore the connections between body, architecture, perception and the incorporeal. Formally abstract, his works map out parallels between human vocal and auditory organs, musical instruments, transmission devices and architectural forms. Posting the body as receiver or antenna, his colored pencil drawings function as encoded systems, as messages in disguise - a song, a melody or notation. Like portals or passageways they create spaces between seen and unseen, sound and silence, the physical and the spiritual.
Marlon Kroll (b. 1992 Hamburg, Germany) lives and works in Montreal, Canada. He holds a BFA in ceramics from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. He has had solo - and two person exhibitions at Silke Lindner (New York); Galerie Eli Kerr (Montreal); 12.26 (Los Angeles); Baader-Meinhof (Omaha); Gern En Regalia (New York) Management (New York); Afternoon Projects (Shanghai); among others.
